I just removed a luminous bulb from a ceiling fixture, I was fortunately sitting in the room when I heard a hissing noise from the fixture and turned around in time to see a lick of flame coming from the bulb. This was a 14 w bulb P17752-L06 if I hadn't been in the room at the time, I know this would have started my house on fire, the fixture was located on a ceiling joist

I was quite shocked to find a melted light bulb in one of my children's ceiling lamps. After reviewing it on line, I see there were only 4 'incident reports' submitted..... out of 120 000 sold????
People must not be reporting it. I bought this product in bulk 5 years ago. Several of the bulbs seemed to stop working after only about 3-4 years of use. So far only one bulb has actually melted, causing a horrendous smell in the room and light fixture. It sure looks like a close call. I think we are very lucky not to have had a major fire.

Hi Dalene,
Sorry to hear about your purchase. What a disappointment this must be for you. I cannot tell you if the entire fixture is recalled, I would say it's most likely just the bulbs. unless, the bulbs are permanently affixed to the unit. These fixtures and bulbs are not our (a Sonepar Canada) product, you should contact Costco and explain the situation to them and they should be able to help you. I recomment you take a picture of the track piece and bulbs an bring it into Costco. Even better bring the actual bulb with your picture and tell them what happened. Keep us posted on the outcome.

Sincerely, Jennifer S

I bought a track light from Costco around a year ago that has the 13W bulb in it. It has burned out and while researching, I noted that there is a recall. Is the entire fixture recalled? Is my unit okay as it was bought a year ago? Are the bulbs replaced for free as there is a warranty and the bulb is suppose to last 9 years?
