International Women’s Day (IWD) is a day of celebration, awareness and gratitude for the struggles and successes of women throughout history. It is about bringing people together of all ages, genders, races, and religions to voice support for gender-equality globally. It’s also a time to raise awareness of the progress made towards achieving gender equality and the work remaining to be done.
Each year at Sonepar, we celebrate IWD whilst raising awareness of gender inequality we continue to connect, support each other, and create further opportunities for all our associates. Each year IWD organizers choose a theme as a banner to unify international efforts and help raise awareness. This year’s theme is #BreakTheBias as explained on the IWD website, “Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women’s equality.”
Sonepar associates have shared their #BreakTheBias pose with arms crossed to show their commitment to calling out bias, smashing stereotypes, breaking inequality, and rejecting discrimination. Sonepar has prepared a line-up of stories to be shared on the Sonepar official social media featuring our associates’ career journey with the company. We hope these stories inspire you to join us in challenging the bias, and spark change everywhere.
Happy International Women’s Day!
