Sonepar Canada's Road to Reconciliation: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

09.30.2024

Our Purpose is best reflected by creating a unique and diverse culture, respectful and inclusive for associates, vendor partners and customers. In developing our Road to Reconciliation, we will collaborate, learn and engage with Indigenous Canadians, creating a thoughtful, respectful and open-minded approach.

Sonepar has partnered with an Indigenous women led design firm to create land acknowledgement artwork for each of our Canadian head offices.

This year Sonepar became a proud member of Canadian Council for Indigenous Business and attended a training session hosted by CCIB on How to Incorporate Indigeneity into HR practices. From the meeting key takeaways were created and shared across all the Canadian HR leaders.

For this year’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, our SHINE ERG created orange t-shirts that feature Sonepar's Indigenous Relations Mission Statement and our land acknowledgement artwork for our associates to show their support on September 30th.

We continue to look for opportunities to learn, engage and pursue thoughtful actions as we take steps towards reconciliation at Sonepar.
